Give your feet a second chance – get rid of their pain and restore their proper shape.
If treatment by exercise, inserts and ointments fails and you continue to feel pain and discomfort in your shoes or your feet are not aesthetically pleasing, we can give them a second chance. Toe deformities can be corrected with an operation under local or full anaesthesia, with a small incision above the deformity. The severity of the deformity will determine the size of the incision and may require the use of miniature screws or splints. Depending on the size of the deformity, the front part of the foot is fixed in a plastic bandage for 4 to 6 weeks. During this period, the patient can walk normally in special post-operation sandals and receives further treatment. After the removal of the bandage, rehabilitation minimises swelling, improves mobility and restores muscle strength. If the patient takes care of the foot and does not stress it by being overweight or wearing high heels, it is unlikely that the deformity will return.
